    The Cable Guy
    Rated:PG-13
    Stars:Jim Carrey, Matthew Broderick
    Score:*
From what I've heard, The Cable Guy is supposed to be a comedy. Then why wasn't this movie funny? Oh, sure, it had its moments, but they were few and not all that great.

The movie was dark, casting Carrey in the role of the antagonist, a place where he just doesn't fit. The film itself barely has a plot, and just kind of goes without much direction. It's the kind of movie that just exists. You can sit through and watch it, but when it's over, you ask yourself, "Why did I watch this?" You see, there's no point. Yes, it's true that a lot of comedies are pretty pointless, but this comedy ISN'T FUNNY!

Look at, for instance, one of the Naked Gun movies. Take out all the sight gags, and what are you left with? Right. The Cable Guy. I would be very interested to hear from anybody who liked this movie. Wait. No, I don't. I just want to push this film back and try to forget about it by seeing a better movie like The Rock or The Arrival. If you're considering seeing Jim Carrey's latest, you should change your mind. Trust me. Have I ever lied to you? :)
